We Move Celebration
July 14, 2024 @ 5:00 pm
Join SPAN in celebrating the We Move project with an
evening of music, film and performance.
SPAN, in partnership with Llwy Gariad group of diverse
people of West Wales, is proud to present an evening of celebration for the We
Move project, a Global Majority youth social action project bringing young
people together.
Join us for films and music created and presented by We
Move, a youth-led project for Global Majority children and young people across
West Wales. Celebrate the We Move Project with delicious food from the Zahia’s
Kitchen, live music from the We Move house band, aerial
circus from Eliza, and a performance from The Successors of the Mandingue.
The project is supported by the Children in Need We Move fund.
The £1m We Move Fund: Youth Social Action aims to empower Black children and
young people to use their voice to tackle subjects that matter to them and
create change. We know that Black children and young people face many barriers
in British society. Inequality, racism and discrimination prevent Black
children and young people from accessing many opportunities including accessing
similar opportunities and services compared to their peers and engaging in
social, cultural, education and economic activity.
The project seeks to achieve positive outcomes for Global
Majority children and young people through Youth Social Action, and for
Children in Need to learn about what Youth Social Action means to Black
children and young people. They will share this learning with the sector.
We invite you to come and share in this joyful celebration
of the project, taking place at Small World Theatre on 14 of July, 4:30 – 9pm. Tickets
are £5 and booking is required. Please also pre-book your food by contacting wemove@span-arts.org.uk after booking
your ticket.
