Côr Pawb
In 2015, SPAN created Côr Pawb, a mass community choir made up of singers of all ages from the local community.
Côr Pawb translates as Everyone’s Choir and aims to be a community celebration, accessible, equitable, and life-affirming. People of all ages and abilities from across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and Ceredigion rehearse and then come together to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts. The mass choir is a statement of solidarity that shares its joy through performing at community events and concerts across the year.
Founded upon the principles of community strength and resilience, Côr Pawb welcomes all voices, regardless of singing ability, to come together for an uplifting celebration of song.
Thanks to the support of the Ashley Family Foundation and the Colwinston Trust Côr Pawb is back and working toward a programme of unique community-focused performing opportunities.
Over the last year, the mass choir has had the opportunity to sing on the main stage at the Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival and in St David Cathedral and the Bishops Palace in St Davids.
Over the coming months there will be a series of events that Côr Pawb will be taking part in.
Saturday 5th October
Templeton Village Hall from 11am – 4pm
Please arrive from 10.30am to sign in so we can start singing promptly at 11 and bring a packed lunch and your own cup.
The rest of rehearsals will take place at the SPAN Arts Building from 11am – 4pm:
Join us in this journey of togetherness and creativity.
You don’t have to be a member of a choir or have sung before to join in – experienced singers and newbies alike, people of any age, families, and individuals – everyone is welcome.
Unlike many choirs, Côr Pawb is free to attend, you don’t have to sign up for every performance and it doesn’t have weekly rehearsals. They take place on occasional weekends in the lead-up to performances, offering more flexibility for people to get involved.
To find out when our next rehearsal is and to be added to the mailing list contact SPAN Community Producer Bethan Morgan at info@span-arts-dev.co.uk or call the team on 01834 869323.
Alongside Côr Pawb, SPAN runs a range of other singing and song-based projects, including our bi-monthly singing for wellbeing group Cân Sing and the unique Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival (NAVF). SPAN explores the recognised health and well-being benefits of singing to tackle social and rural isolation and enhance a community spirit through song.
