Ers dros 25 mlynedd mae\u2019r ensemble wedi cyfareddu cynulleidfaoedd ar draws y byd gyda\u2019u canu a pherfformiadau yn nhraddoddiad llafar du \u2013 ffurf o gerddoriaeth gynnar wedi\u2019i seilio ar l\u00ean gwerin a chwedleua hynafol Affrica\u00a0 a\u2019r gwasgariad sydd wedi effeithio ar ddatblygiad cerddoriaeth glasurol a <em>genres<\/em> mwy diweddar\u00a0 megis canu\u2019r felan a jazz. Gan dynnu ysbrydoliaeth o\u2019r traddodiad cyfoethog hwnnw mae Black Voices wedi datblygu repertoire a threfniannau unigryw o ganeuon ysbrydol, caneuon gwerin traddodiadol o Affrica, y Carib\u00ee a Lloegr, jazz, gospel, pop a reggae yn ogystal \u00e2 chyfuniad o arddulliau cyfoes a chlasurol sydd wedi ennill iddynt gydnabyddiaeth fyd-eang fel cwmni perfformio a dysgu. Mae Black Voices yn ei hystyried yn fraint eu bod wedi cael eu dewis i berfformio o flaen aelodau\u2019r teulu Brenhinol Prydeinig yn y DU a thramor. Ym 1988 perfformiodd yr ensemble mewn cyngerdd awyr-agored ar gyfer y Pab Ioan Pawl II yn Loreto, Yr Eidal, ac yn 1996 o flaen y cyn Arlywydd Nelson Mandela yng Nghyngerdd y Ddwy Genedl yn Neuadd Albert. Yn teithio\u2019r byd gyda\u2019u sain nodweddiadol, harmon\u00efau a phresenoldeb syfrdanol ar lwyfannau maen nhw wedi ymddangos hefyd gyda rhai o fawrion y diwydiant cerddorol gan gynnwys Nina Simone, Miriam Makeba, Ray Charles, Hugh Masekela, a Take 6.
